Map countries to currencies

This guide walks you through setting up country → currency localisation from scratch, so guests from each country automatically see prices in their own currency. It takes a few minutes.

1. Enable the feature

Go to Addons → GeoSync Pro → Currency. Under Currency Localisation, turn on Enable Currency Localisation. This lets GeoSync Pro auto-detect a guest's location and set the currency accordingly. Logged-in users always keep their own profile currency, so this only affects guests.

2. Pick a default currency

Set Default Currency. This is the fallback GeoSync Pro uses when a visitor's country can't be detected or has no mapping — so a price is always shown. Choose the currency most of your unmapped visitors should see.

3. Add your country mappings

In the Country-to-Currency Mappings table, click Add Mapping for each rule. For every row:

  • Country Code — a two-letter ISO alpha-2 code (the standard two-letter country code), for example IN for India, GB for the United Kingdom, or JP for Japan.
  • Currency — the currency guests from that country should see.

The EU rule

Rather than adding all 27 European Union countries one by one, add a single row with the country code EU and map it to one currency (usually EUR). This EU rule applies to every EU member state at once.

4. Make sure the currencies exist in WHMCS

Every currency you map must already exist and be active in WHMCS. Check under Setup → Payments → Currencies, and add any that are missing. The Active WHMCS currencies reference table on the Currency tab shows which currencies are currently available, so you can cross-check at a glance.

Missing currency = no switch

If a mapped currency doesn't exist or isn't active in WHMCS, GeoSync Pro can't switch to it and falls back to your default currency.

5. Test from a public IP

GeoSync Pro only localises guests on public IP addresses — private or local addresses (like 127.0.0.1 or 192.168.x.x) can't be geolocated. To test, open your client area in a logged-out or incognito window from a normal public internet connection. You should see the currency for your detected country. To simulate other countries, use a VPN.
