Installation

Installing GST Manager is a short, five-part process: upload the files, activate the addon, enter your license, and let the guided wizard finish the setup. Most stores are GST-compliant the same day.

Before you begin

Confirm your server meets the Requirements first — especially the ionCube Loader. Activation depends on it.

1. Upload the module

Upload the modules/addons/gst_manager/ folder into your WHMCS installation, keeping the same path. Use whatever you normally use to move files onto your server (SFTP, your host's file manager, and so on).

2. Activate the addon

In the WHMCS admin area, go to Setup → Addon Modules, find GST Manager in the list, and click Activate.

Activation does a lot for you in one step. It:

  • sets up the module's database tables,
  • deploys the GST invoice templates,
  • configures the WHMCS hooks GST Manager relies on,
  • seeds the India tax rules — IGST 18% and CGST 9% + SGST 9% (the inter-state, central and state components of GST), and
  • creates the file-integrity baseline used to detect tampering later.

If activation fails

If something goes wrong, WHMCS shows:

"Activation failed. Check activity log for details."

Open Utilities → Logs → Activity Log to see the underlying reason. The most common cause is a missing or outdated ionCube Loader — see Requirements.

3. Enter your license

Open Addons → GST Manager → Settings → License and enter your license key. An active license is required for the module to run and for the client-area invoice bank-details feature to appear.

4. Run the Setup Wizard

With a valid license in place, opening Addons → GST Manager launches the Setup Wizard automatically. It takes over the GST Manager area until you finish or skip it.

Work through the seven steps: license, WHMCS prerequisites, your GSTIN and tax rules, company identity, SAC & Purpose codes, bank & export details, and invoice-template deployment. Only the GSTIN step is mandatory — everything else can be skipped and finished later under System Setup. See the Setup Wizard for a step-by-step walkthrough.
