Updating

RelyPay can update itself in one click, right from the WHMCS admin. It checks for new releases automatically once a day, and every update takes a full backup first so you can update with confidence. This page covers the one-click flow, the automatic daily check, manual updates, and what to expect on a Lifetime license.

Update Status panelsAddons → RelyPay → Global Settings → Update Status

One-click update

  1. Go to Addons → RelyPay → Global Settings → Update Status. The Current Installation panel shows the version you're running now.
  2. Click Check for Updates. If a newer version is available, its release notes appear.
  3. Click Update Now. RelyPay downloads the release, backs up first, applies the update, and reloads.

TIP

Every one-click update takes an automatic backup before it changes anything, and restores automatically if something goes wrong. See Backup & restore for details.

Automatic daily check

RelyPay checks for updates automatically once a day and caches the result, so the Update Status panel shows the latest availability instantly when you open it — you don't have to click Check for Updates to know whether a new version exists. Applying the update is still a deliberate click on Update Now.

Manual update

If you'd rather update by hand — for example, if outbound HTTPS from your server is restricted:

  1. Download the latest ZIP from your client area.
  2. Replace the modules/addons/relypay/ directory on your WHMCS install with the new files.
  3. Open Addons → RelyPay so the module re-syncs its deployed files.

INFO

A manual update replaces the addon files directly, so it does not create the automatic pre-update backup that the one-click flow does. Take your own backup of modules/addons/relypay/ and your database before you begin.

Lifetime and Support & Updates

  • Leased licenses include updates for as long as the license is Active — just use Update Now.
  • Lifetime licenses own the installed version forever, but installing a newer version requires an active Support & Updates subscription. If that entitlement has lapsed, your current version keeps running normally and only Update Now is blocked. Renew Support & Updates to upgrade again.

See Licensing for how the license types differ.

If an update won't apply

If Update Now stays disabled or an update fails, the message usually tells you why — a lapsed Support & Updates plan, a release announced before its download is live, a corrupted download, or a non-writable addon directory. See the Error reference for the exact messages and Troubleshooting for fixes. Because a backup is taken first, a failed one-click update leaves your install unchanged.
