Uninstalling

You can stop using PhonePe for WHMCS at two levels: deactivate it (reversible — leaves the files in place so you can turn it back on), or remove it completely (delete the module files). This page covers both, plus a gentler option if you only want to pause payments.

Deactivate (reversible)

Deactivating hides PhonePe from checkout without deleting anything:

  1. Go to Setup → Payment Gateways.
  2. On the All Payment Gateways tab, find PhonePe in your active list.
  3. Deactivate it. WHMCS asks you to confirm; PhonePe stops appearing as a payment option at checkout.

Your saved settings remain, so re-activating later restores your configuration. Existing invoices and transaction records are untouched.

Temporarily disable instead

If you only need a short pause — a maintenance window, or while you sort out credentials — you don't have to uninstall. Deactivating (above) is fully reversible, and turning on Sandbox Mode lets you keep testing without taking live payments. See Configuration.

Remove all data (irreversible)

To remove the gateway entirely:

  1. Deactivate PhonePe first (above).
  2. Delete the module files from your WHMCS install:
    • modules/gateways/phonepe.php
    • modules/gateways/phonepe/
    • modules/gateways/callback/phonepe.php

Historical records stay

Deleting the files removes the gateway, but invoices and transactions already recorded through PhonePe remain in your WHMCS database as part of your billing history. That's intended — your accounting stays intact. If you also want to remove the stored gateway configuration values held in the WHMCS mod_* gateway tables, do so with a database backup in hand.

Also remember to remove the webhook you configured in the PhonePe Business dashboard, since it will otherwise keep calling a URL that no longer has a handler.
