Licensing
PhonePe for WHMCS ships with one of two license types. Both unlock the full gateway; they differ in how updates and long-term use work. This page covers the two license types, the one license-gated feature, and where to enter and manage your key.
The two license types
| Type | What you get | Updates |
|---|---|---|
| Leased | Works while the license is active. | Updates included for as long as it stays active. |
| Lifetime | Perpetual use of the installed version — you own it forever. | Newer versions need an active Support & Updates plan. |
The license-gated feature
For a payment gateway, the license gates payment processing itself. When your license is active, customers can pay their invoices through PhonePe as normal. If the license is inactive, the gateway stops taking payments — the PhonePe option no longer completes a charge — until you restore the license.
The license check runs locally in the background, so a brief outage of the licensing server never breaks a checkout that is already in flight; short interruptions are tolerated. If the license is genuinely inactive, PhonePe payment processing is disabled until you renew or re-enter a valid key. Nothing else about your WHMCS install changes — other gateways and your storefront keep working.
Keep the license active
Because the license gates payments, an inactive license means customers can't pay you through PhonePe. Renew before a Leased term ends, and keep your key current.
Where to enter and manage your key
Your license key lives in the gateway configuration, not in a separate addon panel. Go to Setup → Payment Gateways → PhonePe and enter your key in the License Key field, then Save Changes.
Setup → Payment Gateways → PhonePe
- Paste the key exactly as issued in your relyweb.co client area — no extra spaces.
- Save the configuration to activate. Once active, PhonePe payment processing is enabled.
- If the key is missing or invalid, payments through PhonePe stay disabled until a valid key is saved.
