# Licensing

Your license unlocks the two Cashfree gateways. Until your key is **Active**, neither gateway
appears in AcelleMail and payment processing is disabled.

## The two license types

| Type | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| **Leased** | A subscription license. It stays valid while your subscription is active and includes updates and support for that period. Renew to keep receiving both. |
| **Lifetime** | A one-time purchase that never expires. Support and updates are included for the bundled Support & Updates period; the license itself keeps working after that. |

## The license-gated feature

The license-gated feature is **the gateways themselves**. Until the key is **Active**, neither the
**Cashfree** nor the **Cashfree Subscription** gateway appears in **Admin → Payment Gateways**, and
payment processing is disabled.

When the license is valid and you click **Save Settings**, both gateways are created
automatically — there is no manual "Add" step. The gateways are **INR-only**: only INR-priced plans
are eligible.

::: warning If the license lapses at checkout
Customers reaching a payment page while the license is inactive see:
*"Cashfree plugin license is not active. Please contact the administrator."* Re-enter a valid key
and Save Settings to restore payments.

## Where to enter and manage your key

The key lives in **Plugin Settings**, not a separate license tab: **Admin → Plugins → Cashfree →
Settings**, in the **License** section.

* **License Key** — help text: *"The Cashfree gateway will only appear in Payment Gateway options
  when a valid license is active."* Placeholder: *"Enter your license key from relyweb.co"*.
* Click **Save Settings**.

A green **Active** badge shows when the key is valid; otherwise you'll see **Not configured** or
**Invalid — payment gateway is disabled**. The check runs locally as a background check against
relyweb.co; brief outages are tolerated. If a badge flips unexpectedly, re-enter and re-save your
key to restore it.
